The rich history of Holden dates back to 1856 from the days of manufacturing saddlery for horsepower of the four legged variety to becoming an intricate part of one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturers, General Motors.

From humble beginnings with the first 48-215 Holden in 1948 to the technologically advanced Holden Commodore VE exported worldwide, Holden has certainly become prominent on the world automotive market.

Holden’s legendary rivalry with Ford is cemented in Australian folklore history with their names becoming iconic figures in the history of Australia’s greatest motor race, the Bathurst 1000.

The old slogan “Race on Sunday, sell on Monday” paved the way for great models such as the Monaro, Torana & Commodore, sold after many a victorious Holden conquered the Mount Panorama race track. The most successful manufacturer in touring car racing at Bathurst, Holden also has victories in Round Australia reliability trials, Production based Endurance races & countless other motor racing categories over the years.

Winner of the inaugural FIA World Touring Car Championship round in 1987 with the Holden Commodore VL SS Group A, hotted up Holden’s popularity grew with the Holden Dealer Team Brock series of Commodores & the more recent Holden Special Vehicles performance car range.

With close links to parent company General Motors, Holden has capitalised on GM’s popular V8 engine designs for many decades now. The newest generation of V8 engines along with the Holden designed V6 engines both offer class leading economy & performance which owners choose to modify with various aftermarket components available.
